What is so important to you, what are you so passionate about, that you would put aside your everyday life for months to pursue that passion, to fight for that cause? My special guest today did exactly this: Liz Warner is running 30 marathons in 30 countries with the goal of raising over $100,000 for local NGO’s (non-governmental organizations) that support women and girls in those countries!

In today’s episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, Liz talks about:

  • What motivated her to take on this incredibly impressive feat.
  • Some of the internal struggles she endured in pursuing this, including acceptance of the unknown and a recognition that she was going to fail along the way.
  • How she chose the local organizations that she is supporting.
  • Some of the NGO’s she supports, including Free to Run (Afghanistan), Empower Her (Côte d'Ivoire), and She Is Egypt (Egypt).
  • Examples of sexism she faced running marathons in countries around the world.
  • How each one of you can help her reach her goal!

You can learn more about Liz Warner, and you can support her efforts, at her website (www.runtoreach.com), and please follow her on Instagram (@runtoreach).

About Liz Warner

Marathoner Liz Warner launched Run to Reach in early 2019, marking the beginning of a whirlwind 18-month international fundraising initiative that will see her face 30 marathons across the globe and partner with 20 local NGOs. Each one empowers women in its community to become independent, take control of their futures and fight in the face of vulnerability and discrimination.

Currently residing in Paris but born and raised in Atlanta, Liz has competed in
 the world-renowned Singapore
and Paris marathons, as well as smaller races in Myanmar and Lebanon. Liz now faces 20 further marathons across the six inhabited continents, reaching her own summit at the Everest Marathon in May of 2020.
